A lot of your employees will likely be using corporate equipment to do work, but they may even use their phones to open documents, emails, or any other sensitive data.

If your employees are going to be using mobile devices, then you should have policies in place for what data they can open on their phones.

If you really want to protect your data, you may not even want people to open it on their own devices. Instead, issue them a company phone. Or, you may want to make the information only accessible on a secure server that your employees have to use a VPN to log into.

Use Good Passwords

If you don’t have a good password, you’re essentially leaving an unlocked door to protect all of your data. Hackers will be able to easily get in, so you need to make sure that you have strong passwords.

To create a strong password, you need to have lowercase and uppercase letters. You should also use numbers and special characters. Don’t use simple names or a succession of passwords.

Once you’ve created a strong password, don’t write it down somewhere where someone can easily find them. Instead, store them in a safe, password-protected app.

Use Two-Factor Authentication

While a strong password can be really helpful, you should also use two-factor authentication. This way, when you put in your password, you also have to enter a passcode that is sent to your phone or email.

Even if a hacker has access to your password, they’ll also need access to your email or phone, so this can be a great way to secure your account.
